Frequently Asked Quesitons

 

  • What is the purpose of this seller tool? The goal of this feature is to help you grow your sales by allowing you to create your own temporary sales for your store outside of the sitewide Chairish sales. 

  • How long do the sales last? All private sales last 72 hours.  

  • Can I put individual items on sale? Right now, you can only put on your entire storefront on sale.   You cannot set a sale for individual items or categories within your storefront.

  • Can I do a private sale during a sitewide Chairish sale? Yes.  As long as you are not participating in the sitewide sale, you can do a private sale during a Chairish sale.

  • Can I schedule out multiple sales? No.  You can only set up one sale at a time. There is no ability to do advanced scheduling.  

  • What discounts can I take on my products? Discounts can be anywhere from 10-90% off.

  • an I tier my discounts and do different discounts for different price points? No.   Right now, you can only take a percentage off your entire storefront.  

  • Can I cancel a private sale once it starts? No.  Once a sale starts you cannot cancel or edit the sale.

  • When do sales start and end? Sales start at 12:00 AM Pacific time the following day after you set the sale. All sales run for 72 hours. 

  • Can I edit or cancel the sale before it starts? Yes.  Before the sale starts you are allowed to edit the Private Sale Discount or cancel the sale.  To make an edit, go to “My listings” and select the edit button in the red banner.

  • How will I know my sale is going on? In “My Listings” the red banner will show that your sale is active and when it will end.

  • Who qualified for private sales? Right now we limited the number of sellers who can participate in private sales.  It is only available to our elite and plus members and 2022 super sellers.

  • Who is notified if my shop goes on sale?  How is it promoted? Private sales are promoted to all of your followers and anyone who has favorited an item in your shop.  These personalized emails have strong conversion and are a great way to boost sales. The site will also indicate there are private sales for the end user. These are laid out in more detail below.

  • What can I do to make private sales more successful? The more favorites and followers you have, the more successful your private sales will be.

  • How long will I have access to the private sales tool? As long as you are either a member of elite or plus or are a current super seller, you will have access to this valuable tool.

  • Will there be improvements made to the private sale tool? Yes, we will continue to make this tool more flexible in the coming months.

  • Can someone walk me through how to use this tool? Absolutely!  If you’re not clear on how the tool works or how to get started, please reach out to your account executive and they can schedule some time to go over everything with you.

  • I have access to private sales as a member of elite or plus.  If I stop my membership, I won’t have access to private sales anymore? That is correct, we’re excited to include this as an added benefit of elite and plus, but you will only have access to this tool while you are an active member.

  • How do buyers get added to a Private Sale? There are four conditions that if met will result in the buyer being added to a Private Sale:

  • Favorited item(s)

  • Placed item(s) on hold

  • Made an offer on item, but did not purchase it

  • Added the item(s) to their cart

  • Can a buyer see more than one private sale at a time on the site? Yes. The buyer can also be part of many different Private Sales going on at the same time by different sellers.

  • How are buyers notified of a private sale? Sellers will receive emails on the first and last day of the sale letting them know that your shop, or their favorite items, are on sale. These emails convert at very high rates. In addition to emails, buyers will know there is a private sale from cues on the site.

Once a Private Sale starts there are three ways a customer is notified that they have been added to a private sale which is described below:

 

1. When a Buyer logs into Chairish they will see there is a private sale.

They will see a red dot on the heart icon at the top right side of the page as indicated to the left. When the Buyer clicks on the heart icon they will see a call out in red that they have special offers just for them. They will be directed to the “Private Sale” tab on the “My Favorites” page. where they will see all the item(s) on Private Sale.

2. Red Banner under the nav menu

If the Buyer wants to see the offer(s) they can simply click on the
“SHOP NOW” link.

3. Sale Tab in the Navigation Bar

Finally a Buyer can see Private Sale offers by clicking the “Sale” tab on the navigation bar. Here they will see the Private Sales rail at the top of the page.
