Dering Hall Will Participate in What's New What's Next
Dering Hall is proud to be part of the New York Design Center's 10th annual What’s New, What’s Next, a showcase of new ideas, materials, and products in design. Dering Hall will host the following panel with Dennis Sarlo.
Risks to Take & Rules to Break
September 13, 2018 | 5:15 PM
Don't settle for the status quo. Let your (stylish) freak flag fly! Join a group of design risk-takers for a lively conversation about the best ways to break rules and surprise and delight clients with boundary-pushing work. Hosted by Dering Hall executive editor Dennis Sarlo, the group will include Carl D'Aquino and Dane Pressner of D'Aquino Monaco, Fawn Galli of Fawn Galli Interiors, and John Willey of Willey Design.
Panelists include these rule-breaking designers (all copy from their respective websites):
Fawn Galli
Fawn Galli brings a fresh eye and modern mastery of color to her design. With a nod to the past but a focus firmly tuned to today, she creates inspired interiors that meld the traditional and the modern. A well-traveled explorer, Fawn finds inspiration in a myriad of worlds including fashion, textiles, 70’s disco and nature. She harmoniously mingles the old and the new, vintage and contemporary, all with a personal touch. Her layered interiors, which often employ unexpected materials and bold use of color, are all designed with the aim of creating spaces that are distinctive, memorable and, most importantly, reflective of each client’s taste and lifestyle. Projects range from a Newport, Rhode Island estate and homes in Connecticut and the Hamptons, to a West Village townhouse, Soho offices for a film editing company and a classic Brooklyn brownstone.
John Willey
John Willey is a New York City-based interior designer celebrated for his thoughtful and refined approach in expressing his clients’ points of view with provocative and luxurious results. Since launching his namesake firm in 2006, Willey Design has renovated projects throughout the United States, including New York City, Los Angeles, the Hamptons, Connecticut, and Nantucket. Prior to that, John managed renovations in London, Miami, the Caribbean, and the Bahamas. Willey Design’s experience and passion is evident in their striking results: smart, polished, graceful, relaxed.
Carl D'Aquino
Interior designer Carl D'Aquino is renowned for his ability to apply modernist sensibility and eclectic taste to contemporary design. His extraordinary appreciation for antiques is complimented by a fascination for cutting-edge materials. Carl is a contributor to the Design Council for the Museum of Art and Design and a consultant to the Global Color Research Panel.
Dane Pressner
Dane Pressner addresses his life and career as a creative and curated design process. Joining D’Aquino Monaco in 2007, his appetite for style, fashion and pop culture have brought a unique perspective to the firm. This strong appreciation for current cultural events is balanced by having spent a number of years working with an antiques dealer.
If you are going to be in New York for What's New What's Next in September, please stop by for this panel. It should be a lively, informative conversation. We look forward to seeing you there!
